If you wish to apply directly to the relevant embassy, please consult their official website for guidelines on how and where to apply, application forms

NIGERIA INTRODUCE BIOMETRICS
14/09/17
As of Thursday 14 September, the Nigeria Visa Application Centre is requiring all applicants to attend in person to give biometric information (ie. fingerprints). An online system is in place for booking appointments in one hour slots, at visa centres in Leicester and London. Any potential provision for agency booking remains, at this stage, unresolved. The system has been introduced at unusually short notice.

CAMEROON CHANGE PROCESSING TIMES
24/05/17
Cameroon have changed their regular service from Next Day to 72 hours, and introduced an express Same Day service for a slightly higher fee. The regular service fee remains the same, while the express fee costs a flat extra £35.00, irrespective of whether for a 3 month or 6 month visa.

NIGERIA FEE CHANGES
11/05/17
The Nigerian Embassy has dropped its own processing fee, while the OIS Visa Application Centre has increased its express fees. The best news is for applications on the regular service, for which the only change is that they are no longer charged the Embassy's own fee of either £23 (tourist/business) or £57 (TWP/STR). However, whilst applications processed on the express service also no longer pay this - which was either £79 or £113 respectively - the saving is to a large degree cancelled out by OIS's fees having risen by £70 inc VAT (tourist/business) or £100 inc VAT (TWP/STR). Nevertheless, even these express applications have seen a small overall reduction in price.

AZERBAIJAN FEES SIMPLIFIED
13/03/17
Azerbaijan have simplified their consular fees considerably, and the Azerbaijan visa centre has also adjusted its processing fees. Whilst EU nationals apart from the UK now pay a flat £30.00 consular fee for both single and multi entry visas, the rest of the world pays just £18.00 for a single entry, but £290.00 for a multi entry. Processing fees range from £20.00 + VAT for the normal service on a single entry visa, up to £160.00 + VAT for the express service.

BELARUS VISA-FREE UP TO 5 DAYS FOR 80 NATIONALITIES
22/02/17
Visitors of 80 nationalities, including the UK and the rest of the EU, can now enter Belarus for up to 5 days without a visa - for any purpose whatsoever. This only applies, however, to entry through Minsk National Airport. Other nationalities to benefit from the new arrangement include the USA, China and Japan, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Brazil.

RUSSIA VISA FEES RATIONALISED
06/02/17
The Russian Embassy has simplified their visa fees for applications in the UK, sweeping away extensive differences between the prices charged to different nationalities. However, this has resulted in significant increases for many visas. Nearly all visas are now charged at the same rate, and only nationals of Angola, Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, Syria, Turkey and Vietnam will pay lower fees across the board. For UK nationals, this has meant a rise of 41% for single entry business and tourist visas, while double entries have gone up a more significant 73%. However, Brits will only pay £12.00 more for multi entry visas on the normal service - but an extra £123.00 for multis on the faster next day service.

VIETNAM EXTENDS BUSINESS PROCESSING TIMES
08/12/16
For business visas, the express service is now 3 working days, whilst the normal processing time is 1 week. Tourist visas are, however, unaffected and can still be obtained on a next day express service, while the normal processing time for tourist visas remains at 3 working days. There has also been a small increase in consular fees for all Vietnamese visas.

MYANMAR FEES INCREASE
08/12/16
As of Monday 12 December Myanmar's visa fees are rising substantially, with a 1 year business multi entry visa more than doubling from £200 to £525. A 6 month business multi entry will increase equally significantly, from £100 to £350. There's better news, however, for travellers on single entry visas - although these are rising by similar percentages they will still only end up as a relatively modest £35 (tourist), and £45 (business).

THAI TOURIST VISAS FREE UNTIL END FEB
02/12/16
As of the 1st December, the Thai consulate is waiving the consular fee on single entry tourist visas, right through to the 28 February. Good news for anyone planning to spend any part of the Xmas period on a Thai beach, or indeed anywhere in the country. Citizens of any nationality can travel there in this period without paying the normal consular fee of £25.00.

06/10/16
Angola has added an online application form, to be completed in addition to the standard application procedure. Since Monday 3 October, all applications for Angolan visas now involve filling in an extra form online, prior to making the normal application. The additional online fee is $40.00, and the form requires uploading documents that include a passport scan and yellow fever certificate. It is not yet clear how long the online approval process will take.

SAUDI ARABIA FEES RISING SUBSTANTIALLY
30/09/16

Family visas are rising by a similar amount, but the position on work and residence visas has yet to be clarified. Further details are expected to emerge very soon.

CHINESE EU EMPLOYMENT LETTER REQUIREMENT DROPPED
28/09/16
A matter of weeks after its introduction, the Chinese Visa Centre in London has dropped the requirement for EU nationals to provide a letter from their UK employer confirming residence here. This is good news for EU passport holders, who once again find that, like UK nationals, their citizenship is sufficient to establish their right to apply for a Chinese visa in the UK.

Clients are advised to ensure the appointment time they select allows plenty of time for documents to arrive at our office, and any necessary changes to be made!

GHANA VISA CHANGES
16/06/16
The Ghanaian embassy have abolished their next day visa service, and increased overall visa prices. This means the quickest service now available is 72 hours, with the embassy's normal service remaining at between 2 and 3 weeks. IRAN'S LONDON EMBASSY ISSUES VISAS AGAIN
11/04/16
After some years in which Iranian visas could only be obtained from embassies in other countries, London's own recently re-opened embassy has just started issuing visas again. Good news for those who wish to travel to the country! The embassy now requires biometric information, but this only requires one attendance in person at the embassy in London's fashionable Kensington. As the biometric info collected for the first application is retained by the embassy, all subsequent visas can be issued without a personal appearance...

SAUDI REQUIRES UK COMPANY LETTERS TO BE STAMPED
29/03/16
As of 29 March 2016, all letters from UK companies in support of Saudi visa applications must be stamped by a UK Chamber of Commerce. As far as the London Chamber of Commerce and Industry is concerned, this means the UK company must initially register with them before letters can then be stamped for a flat fee. Other Chambers of Commerce may have varying requirements for this service.

VIETNAMESE BUSINESS REQUIREMENTS RELAXED
29/12/15
An official Visa Approval Letter from the Immigration Office in Vietnam is no longer required when the purpose of travel is simply business meetings.
A normal letter of invitation from the inviting organisation in Vietnam is now all that is required, as long as no training is undertaken. In addition, there have been some small changes to the visa processing service. Normal service is now 72 hours, and the 48 hr service has been abolished completely (but the next day service remains unchanged). There have also been some minor alterations to the fees.
